Unique Landscape Design
I took this picture this afternoon. It is located in front of the cafe near Chinatown. This is the first time for me to see this kind of landscape design, which is unique and uncommon. In my opinion the side was made from wood and it is covered with grass. The gap between the wood is filled with dirt and the tree is planted there before they cover it with grass. I wonder how could the tree grows in such a narrow space.

Summary of Julie Bustein Video
In this video, Julie Burstein talked about a small clay pot that she made in college. Its name is Raku, which is a kind of pottery that began in Japan as a way of making bowls for the Japanese tea ceremony. She loves it because it allows her to play with elements, shape the pot out of clay, and choose a glaze. She also said that Raku is a wonderful metaphor for the process of the creativity.
She mentioned that creativity grows out of everyday experience. And letting go is a part of the experience. Creativity also grows from the broken places. The best way to lean about anything is through stories, after that she tells a story about work and play and about four aspect of life that we need to embrace in order to flourish our creativity. She tells stories about The filmmaker Mira Nair, The novelist Richard Ford, and also Richard Serra.
The four aspect that we need to embrace in order to flourish our creativity are experience, challenge, limitation, and loss. The embrace of loss is the oldest and most constant of human experiences.

Cooking
Everyone must have seen somebody cook before. Ever since I was a kid, I loved seeing how my mother cooks. And as I grow up, I tried how to cook by myself. I always get burnt, but it does not stop me from cooking. And because of that, I tried to be careful not to burn my self.
Back then, in my country, I usually prepare breakfast by myself. I always bake a cake, bread, until it became my habit. But, when I came to Singapore, cooking is not my habit anymore. Everything is expensive here. And the Kitchen is also very small. So, I just cook something easy, such as instant noodles.

Mikkeller
I saw this bar on my way to Rochor MRT station today. This unique bar is made from container, which is a great idea. It's not a common idea, using a container to build a bar.
There's always a lot of people when I pass this place, but today, it's not as many as usual. Maybe because it is a working time.
I wonder why they call it Mikkeller. Does it have a meaning on it?

Church
I saw this church on my way home today. I think it is very unique because of the wall, it has a brick patterned-wall. And the way they design the exterior is really beautiful.
It is just like the design that the Romans made, which also use a lot of arch. We can see the window as an example.
I wonder what the interior of this church looks like. I think it is much more beautiful than the exterior.

DhobyGhaut wall art
I saw this wall art at dhobyghaut MRT yesterday. This painting is really really artistic. I think the artist tried to make something different by painting an abstract picture using a wall as the canvas. Even though i do not know what the meaning of this painting is, I like it very much.
I wonder what the artist was trying to explain. Is it just a meaningless picture? or is it something like a puzzle? which means when we arrange it again, it will become a non-abstract picture. No one knows.

Self-paid machine
I went to NTUC with my auntie today, and I saw a self-paid machine. it's a little bit strange to me because there's no such thing in my country. So, I tried to use it.
I think the made this machine to avoid long queue, because there are so many people who go to NTUC and buy something. And also because they do not have enough quantities of counter.
I wonder how they trust someone so easily. What if there's someone who intentionally try to cheat with the payment.

SUMMARY OF TIM BROWN VIDEO
In this video, Tim talks about the relationship between creativity and play. He made an experiment with his audience where every audience was given 30 seconds to draw their neighbor. When the time's up, the hall were filled with laughter and a lot of people said "sorry". And this was then called as the fear of judgement. After that he compared adult and children, where adult are afraid to share their opinion and to be judge by another people, and children doesn't even care about their result. And so, he made another experiment called finger blaster, where he instilled that we have the ability to play without boundaries.
The third experiment is called the "30 circles test" where he also instilled that we have the ability to play without boundaries. After that he started to talk about McKim's experiment that was done in 1960s where he and his colleagues conducted to the test effect of psychedelic drugs on creativity. this drugs open up the mind and loosen the control of our mind. as the result people become more creative.
So, we need to learn about the importance of freeing up our mind, to be creative, and dared to be judge and to share opinion to create a better future.
